What Is Diet Culture?
Diet culture is a system of beliefs and values that prioritizes body weight, shape, and size over health and well-being.
It’s a way of thinking about body size that assigns a ‘moral virtue’ to some types of bodies (usually smaller) and types of food.
Say NO to the diet culture!!
*Reject the Diet Mentality – Stop putting weight loss and leanness on a pedestal and revolving your life around it.
*Be aware of the language you use – good, bad, clean, naughty, cheating, cheat day, etc. Also don’t tell yourself “I earned that piece of pizza.”
* Educate yourself on what to eat – eat intuitively. By learning to eat intuitively, you will be able to reconnect with hunger and fullness cues, focus on satisfaction, and stop restricting.
*Take care of your relationship with nutrition and exercise, use it as a form of self-care. Let food and movement make you feel good instead of guilty, or believing it will lead you to look a certain way.
Lastly, STOP CALLING YOURSELF FAT!!!! YOUR BEAUTIFUL!!!!
